We built ASL Studios for creators who don’t want to think about production. Show up, sit down, make something great. That pitch works really well for New York based teams. But something interesting happened along the way. More and more of our clients started flying in. A Podcast Studio NYC can be proud of.
From Los Angeles. From Chicago and Miami. From London. From Dubai & China. They all had different reasons for coming but they kept coming back for the same one: ASL Studios made it easy.
Why NYC Is the World’s Best City to Record a Podcast
Here’s the thing about New York City. Everyone comes here. Your guest is doing press in Midtown. Your cohost is flying in from the West Coast. Your CEO is in town for a board meeting. The talent you’ve been trying to book for six months just happens to be in Manhattan on Thursday.
NYC is the most convenient city in the world for getting people in a room together. And ASL Studios is in the most convenient part of it. We’re in Midtown Manhattan, blocks from Penn Station and Times Square. If someone can get to New York, they can get to us.
That’s why so many of our partners treat us as their go to video studio studio in NYC when they need to be somewhere that works for everyone. Whether they already have studio they love going to in their home city, have their own custom built space they typically use or are used to doing virtual interviews, ASL has them covered in NYC.
Batch Recording or a Single Session. Our NYC Studio Fits Both.
Not everyone uses us the same way and that’s the point.
Some of our clients come in for a single episode. Kylie Kelce normally records her podcast from her home studio in Philly where she talks to guests remotely. But when she has someone she wants to sit down with face to face, she comes to ASL Studios. She walks in, the set is ready, the crew is ready, she records and she’s done. No lengthy setup, no complicated coordination, no stress. The best part is once you’ve been by once, we can save all your details for any future visits.
Monica Lewinsky does something similar for her podcast Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky. She has her own studio in Los Angeles where she produces her podcast. But when a guest is in New York or when she happens to be in town herself, she comes to us. It makes more sense than trying to fly someone to LA or doing it over Zoom when you’re both on the East Coast!
Billy Corgan came in to film his podcast with us when he was in town. HBO uses us to produce companion podcast content for shows like The Seven Kingdoms, supplementing episodes that are being filmed at studios across the country. When they need a polished NYC shoot to round out the series, they book with us.
Then there are the clients who come in and stay.
Maury Povich films four to six episodes in a single day at ASL Studios, four to eight times a year, including satellite interviews with news stations. He comes in, we run a tight schedule and by the end of the week he’s got a month or more of content ready to go.
Shadow Sessions, a podcast out of Dubai, takes it even further. They film two episodes a day over the course of two weeks. That’s an entire season. We built them a custom set that we store between shoots so when they come back it’s exactly the way they left it. They just wrapped their second season with us and they’re coming back for number three. Flying in from Dubai to film in New York might sound like a big move but when everything is handled on arrival it’s actually the simplest option they have.
The Midtown Manhattan Studio Where the World Meets
One of the things we see all the time is guests from completely different parts of the world meeting in the middle at our podcast studio studio in NYC. Someone flies in from London. Their guest is based in LA. Neither of them lives in New York but New York is where it makes sense to meet.
That’s the advantage of being here. We’re not just convenient for one coast or one country. We’re convenient for everyone. And because we handle the production side completely, both parties get to focus on the conversation instead of the logistics.
Full-Service Podcast Production in NYC: Crew, Cameras & Sets Included
When you’re producing in a city that isn’t your home base, the last thing you want is a list of vendors to coordinate. That’s why everything at ASL Studios is included. Crew, cameras, lighting, sets. You book it and we take care of the rest.
But it goes beyond the basics. We have private green rooms so your guests and talent feel taken care of the moment they walk in. We have a dedicated viewing room with a live video feed so producers, clients or anyone else on site can watch the shoot in real time without being in the studio. For teams that can’t be there in person we set up remote viewing links so they can watch from anywhere in the world.
Need to loop in a remote guest? Done. Need a teleprompter? It’s there. Need a custom set built and stored between shoots? We do that too.
The whole idea is that you and your guests walk in and feel like everything is dialed in. Because it is.
Why Out-of-Town Podcasters Keep Coming Back to ASL Studios. Podcast Studio NYC.
Producing content out of town can be stressful. You’re in an unfamiliar city, working with people you’ve never met, hoping the space looks as good in person as it did in the photos. We built ASL Studios to eliminate all of that.
You get a dedicated production contact who handles everything before you arrive. You get a crew that knows the space inside and out. You get a studio that looks and feels premium because your guests notice that stuff and it matters.
Whether you’re flying in for one episode with a guest who happens to be in New York, or you’re coming in to batch an entire season over a week or two, the experience is the same. You focus on the creative. We take care of everything else.
ASL Studios is a full service video production studio in Midtown Manhattan producing everything from interviews and podcasts to live streams and more. If you’re thinking about filming in New York, we’d love to show you the space.
